Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler!

Bonjour Frens and Fam!

After our wonderful stay at Gulf State Park, we headed over to Cajun Country to see the family and enjoy some yummy Cajun food. When we are fortunate enough to head down Cajun Country way…. (South Louisiana) we stay at the Lakeview Park and Beach in Eunice, La. Since we have family in Eunice, this park is very convenient for us. We have stayed there several times, and we both agree this is a nice place to stay.

Did you know that Eunice is home of the Cajun Music Hall of Fame and has some of the best crawfish in all of Louisiana? Yumm!!

The Cajuns love family time, good food, and they like to party! On the weekends they come from all over to stay at Lakeview Park and Beach and enjoy all three! While we were there, the park hosted a Zydeco band on Saturday night. There was a lot of loud music, dancing and good ole fun! It is so much fun to see how much they enjoy their time at the RV park! They drive around in golf carts decorated with lights, playing their favorite tunes and waving and smiling at everyone they meet. No strangers in this park, everyone is so friendly. So, a word of advice…. if you are looking for the peaceful and quiet RV park, this is not the place for you … at least not on the weekend! You will have to wait until Monday rolls around and everyone has gone back home/work to get the peace and quiet back! But, if you are lucky enough to be there on the weekend, you just might make a few new friends!

While in Cajun Country be sure to try the food. There are so many good restaurants to choose from but one we never miss is Olde Tyme Grocery in Lafayette. The absolute best po-boys, in town, hands down. Ned loves the shrimp po-boy. I love them all and have a really hard time deciding which one I want! Wash that po-boy down with a cold Bargs root beer or maybe a cold beer from Abita. Check them out – you won’t be disappointed!

On our visit, we had a great time with family. My sister and I share the same birthday (5 years apart), so it is always fun to spend our birthdays together. My brother-in-law likes to feed us, and he is a GREAT cook! We really enjoy the food. Of course, Mom feeds us too – we can’t get enough of her awesome spaghetti! Don’t ask for her recipe - the sauce recipe is a “secret.” Ned and I always come home with a few extra pounds after every visit! We love our visit to South Louisiana so much - anytime we can spend with family is so precious!

The oak trees are so beautiful in Eunice.

After Eunice, we headed up to Dallas to see more family and friends and to celebrate another birthday. More about that in our next blog! So, stay tuned…. enjoy your holidays and be safe our there!
