Hands down the best brownies you will ever make!
Ingredients
1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
4 eggs (room temperature)
2 tsp vanilla extract
3/4 cup Hershey cocoa powder
1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans(opptional)
Icing:
1 cup powdered sugar
3 tbsp cocoa powder
1 tbsp melted butter
2 tbsp warm water
Directions
Heat oven to 350 deg
Grease a 9x13 baking pan
In a large saucepan, melt butter
Stir in sugar and vanilla and stir until smooth
Add eggs in one at a time, stirring after each one
In another bowl, combine the dry ingredients; cocoa, flour, baking powder and salt.
Whisk until well combined
Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix well
Stir in nuts if using
Pour batter into greased pan and bake for 25 minutes if underbaked brownies are desired and 30 to 35 minutes for a more firm brownie
While brownies are baking, make the icing.
Icing:
Melt butter then wisk in cocoa, butter and powder sugar. (Note: Icing will be thick but it melts when you put it on the hot brownies and it will make a thin yummly chocolate coating!)
Remove brownies from oven and drop icing by spoon onto the hot brownies
Spread icing with spatula
Let cool then cut into bars
