
About the Recipe
Our Granny used to make this cake. It is a bundt cake with a special filling. This recipe takes me and my daughter back to Granny's little house in Cleveland, Alabama where we have fond memories of our visits with her.
Ingredients
Cake:
1 box butter recipe cake mix (Duncan Hines, etc. or Betty Crocker, etc.) (add 2 flour if high altitude)
3/4 cup canola oil
1 small container sour cream (8 oz)
4 eggs room temp
1/2 cup sugar
Filling:
4 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
Glaze:
1 cup sugar
1 stick butter
1/4 cup whole milk
1 tsp vanilla
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Grease and Flour a tube pan or bundt pan
Combine ingredients for cake and mix by hand or mixer until well blended
Pour half of the cake batter into the greased and floured pan
Fold the ingredients for the filling into the remaining cake batter and stir
Pour this batter over the cake batter that is in the pan. Do not stir
Bake at 350 deg for 55 to 60 minutes. (Start toothpick test at 40 minutes, when toothpick comes out clean, the cake is done)
